The Parrott/Gower Family Report on the
2008 Oxtongue Lake Regatta
In the summer of rain we are happy to say that the Oxtongue Lake Regatta was able to have mother nature on its side and went off as scheduled. The turn out was amazing with old and new faces. They filled the start line for almost every race. We again had some new talented paddlers take our total points trophies with Mackenzie Drevney taking the Art Andrews Trophy and Thomas Logan taking the Tom Paris Trophy. Congratulations to you both.
The burgers, sausages and hotdogs sold out and that is a great thing, thank you to the bbqers, Ron, Nick and families, a great job gentleman. Ross Moore on the barge before and during the regatta. Our fine announcer Mr. Jim Rowan and sidekick Harold Lane another steller job. Without people like this we would never have a regatta.
We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to all of the donors to this year’s regatta:

It is the communities spirit that really runs an event like this with a little help from us. Having said that we are so happy to turn over the reins to some fresh faces THANK YOU to Mike and Jana Zavitz, who with the help of their family will be the organizers for 2009. I know they will enjoy it as much as we have.
