Peacefully at Milton District Hospital, dearly loved husband of Jane (Rutherford), proud and supportive father and grandfather of Paul, and his family Neil and Molly, (Squamish, B.C.) Lynn and her husband, John Paul Marion and family Hanna and Ayla (Thunder Bay, ON), Ian (Toronto) and Karen and her partner Justin Marston, (Thunder Bay, ON). Missed by his loyal companion, Lindy.
Chuck is survived by his brothers, Hal and his wife Jean, Don and his wife Joan, and sister-in-law, Mary and her husband, John Gardiner. Chuck loved the outdoors and the times spent with his family at our cabin on Oxtongue Lake, Haliburton. He was an adventurous traveler who in his retirement learned Spanish so that he could converse with the local people when he visited in Central and South America.
Chuck was a generous supporter of many charities including Milton District Hospital Foundation, Sleeping Children Around the World, and Rosseau Lake College (music program). Donations, if desired to these or any other charity would be appreciated by the family.
Sincere thanks to A1 Unit, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and South 2, St. Peter’s Hospital, both in Hamilton, and Continuing Complex Care, Milton District Hospital, all for their professional and compassionate care. We are truly thankful he was back home again in Milton and in a place he cared so deeply for.
Thanks also to Dr. Koslowski for his never ending dedication, and to Luis Valdez for all his help in keeping Chuck in his home as long as possible. Foremost in Chuck’s life was love for his family.
Thanks Dad/Chuck for your unbounded integrity, for inspiring us to love and respect the wonders of nature and to live life with a sense of adventure.
